We are open Thursday through Monday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We are located at 1126 Marksville Rd, Stanley, VA and our phone number is 540-742-1489. Please call ahead if you plan to bring your pet or for groups of 8 or more to help make it a more enjoyable experience for all!
Thank you for visiting our site. We are located in the Shenandoah Valley in Page county, known for its rural character and scenic beauty, between the towns of Luray and Stanley. Our small farm winery is nestled on the western slope of the Blue Ridge mountains. This is a working farm and vineyard; we also have a flock of natural-colored Romney sheep as well as free-roaming chickens for your viewing pleasure while picnicking and enjoying your wine!
April Events (See Below for all upcoming events)
April 13 – Our Wine and Ewe Shearing Day from 10 until 1 p.m. with refreshments. While the grapes are just starting to wake up, the rest of the farm is alive and kicking! Join us for a shearing day on Saturday, April 13. Shearing begins around 10 a.m. and usually continues until 1 p.m. (or until the last sheep is sheared!). Hot drinks and snacks will be served and the tasting room will be open.
April 20 – Spring Planting of the Grapes for Earth Day! Want to see how the whole wine making process starts while enjoying a day in the country? Celebrate Earth Day early and come out and join us for our Spring Planting Day! Don't worry, the hard work (digging the holes) will already be done for you, just the fun part is left. We will start planting early in the morning, so come out and join us throughout the day. All volunteers will receive a free tasting and 10% off any purchases in the tasting room.
We invite you to come out and enjoy a day in the country. Bring a picnic and wander around the farm and vineyard or just sit on our deck, enjoying the wine and the surroundings. In the colder months, warm yourself by the fireplace in the tasting room or one of our outdoor heaters or fire pits. We offer free wi-fi for our friends while you are enjoying your wine on the deck or in the tasting room.
We'd love to have you join our extended family, either as a Wine Club Member or a "Friend of the Winery"! Check out this link on our Facebook page for more details. If you are interested in joining us, just shoot us an email or let us know the next time you come by!
Our farm dates from the 1890s, although we are the first to grow grapes here. Our tasting room is an addition to the original house, a lovely Victorian. Our vineyard is located on a very old creek bed and is extremely porous and rocky, which helps the grapevines thrive.
We follow sustainable agriculture practices, and strive to be good stewards of the land. All of our trellising is made from cedars grown on our property which we had to clear to make way for the vineyard - no treated posts and recycling at its best!
We believe a great wine comes from great grapes. To that end, we spend most of our time in the vineyard, tending the grapes. We pick them at the optimal time to allow the wine to achieve it's highest potential on it's own with minimal interference from the winemaker.
All of our wine is crafted from 100% Virginia-grown grapes. Our goal is that they will eventually all be from estate-grown grapes. Our offerings include Pinot Gris (estate), Chardonnay, Viognier, Traminette, Seyval (estate), Merlot, Carmine (estate), and Norton (estate). We also offer three semi-sweet blends (Velvet, Ashtaroot, and Adonis) and a dessert wine (Sweet Daisy). The regular tasting fee is $5 and includes a souvenir glass.
We can also ship within the state of Virginia and other selected states; if you would like to order our wine, just send an email to info@wisteriavineyard.com!
